Speaking from a pulpit of oaken thorns yesterday, Disney spokesperson Lucifer Thompson announced the next title in the Guitar Hero series, Guitar Hero: High School Musical. Around the same time, researchers in Antarctica reported that the Ross Ice Shelf (the largest ice shelf in Antarctica, about the size of France) was destroyed as miles of molten lava and hellfire erupted from beneath. Only one scientist was able to escape the cataclysmic event.

Recently, the Guitar Hero and Rock Band franchises have been the two most successful franchises in the music/rhythm genre, but are more noticeable for introducing people worldwide to Warrant’s masterpiece, “Cherry Pie”.  This monopoly of the genre may change, however; as new Canadian developer Is It Art unveiled a competitor at a conference last week.
