I believe it’s time to start slowing things down a bit here.  Over the break, some bizarre display issues were occurring on the site, to the point where the only things displayed were the header and the featured stories block.  I attempted to correct the issues by downgrading Wordpress, because all of the problems coincidentally started after the upgrade, but no dice.  I then reinstalled the theme while replacing every file I had in a backup created a few months back.  Still, the problem could not be fixed.

So, what I am to do?  I’m going to change the site back to its original theme.  It’s been about eleven months since the change.  My how time flies!  Because of the different layout, I am no longer going to continue covering video game news everyday.  I personally feel that the old theme is not very suitable for such things.  Instead, Hidden Palace Zone will be a simple blog from this very own video game/tech nerd.

Since school will commence once more in the coming weeks, I feel that it’s time to slow things down a bit here.  I will still update, but not as frequently.  So don’t feel as if this is a goodbye, because it certainly isn’t!  Hopefully by tomorrow, all of the changes will be implemented.

Hello all, I would like to take this opportunity to announce my brief vacation from Hidden Palace Zone in order to enjoy this holiday season.  Since I am the owner of this lovely site, I can do what I want.  You know what I want?

A TWO WEEK VACATION!

Yes indeed.  Any objections?  Because if you need some new material during this time, simply create it yourself!  Register and submit any humorous article you create by hitting the submit button at the top of your screen.  Don’t worry, I’ll laugh at them.  Laugh at your attempt at comedy.

In other news, my town was hit with a major snowstorm this weekend.  My car is literally buried.  I took a photo for proof.

Those weird lines in the photo are from the window screen.  I dare not venture outdoors in such conditions.

See that?  My poor Saab.  First GM decides to kill you off then God covers you in snow, effectively making you immobile.  It was not a good weekend for the little griffin.  Anyway, I’m going off topic a bit.

Because one day of turkey is not enough.  In all honesty, I’m not fond of turkey, but I’ll live.  I wanted to use this post to explain to all three loyal readers (har har) that I will be taking a momentary leave for this week.  Posting will resume on Monday, November 30.

Hey now.  I need some time to unwind.  I’ve been slaving over a hot computer now every weekday delivering late news that no one everyone cares about.  Hence “Happy Thanksgiving Week.”  It’s not about more turkey; it’s about more free time.

The Hidden Palace Zone that you know and love is dead…  Ok, we’re just kidding.  A new change is going to occur though sometime this week (oooh, suspense).  This new change includes a brand new, redesigned site.  Yeah, totally different.  Bang.  Seriously, you won’t recognize us.  Even though the style is different, it’s still the same here at HPZ…

Well… not really…

For the first time ever, you can actually come here for all your TRUE video game news.  “But,” you ask, “How can we possibly trust you guys?”  Haha.  Don’t you worry; we are the holders of truth and knowledge.  Never you fear.  Although we will be covering more factual gaming news, it will all still be done in a “comedic fashion.”

Does that mean that totally fake gaming news (aka, what we’ve been doing for six months now) will disappear?  Nope, not at all!  It will just be less frequent since we are on the hunt for actual gaming news now (that should be interesting).

To those who have contributed thus far, thank you.  To those who haven’t, what are you waiting for?!  Register and submit your fake gaming new articles to us and we’ll post them to keep the tradition alive.

Or perhaps this is a giant mistake and we’ll regret every moment of it.  *Ahem*  We’re pleased to announce the beginning of USER SUBMITTED ARTICLES!  *Cue massive cheers*  Starting as early as tomorrow (possibly), registered users will be able to create their own comedic video game articles and submit them to us.  After a scrutinizing review (relax, it’s not THAT scrutinizing) we’ll post your article.

There will be a link to the submission section on the main navigation bar once we start accepting user submitted articles.  There will also be more information posted there too, so don’t fret yet.  For everyone’s convenience, the sidebar now has a “Register” link and  a “Log in/Log out” link.  Didn’t register yet?  The entire “process” is ridiculously short (just three blanks to fill… no, we’re not kidding… just three lousy blanks).

So, start letting those creative juices flow (<3 cliches… <3 parenthetical thoughts).  In a day or two, even YOU can waste people’s time on the Internet with pointless video game comedy articles!

Capcom in all of their marketing glory launched a Resident Evil 5 site with hidden goodies to be found.  The problem?  Capcom won’t allow us to view them until they receive 100,000 visits to their site (those sneaky marketers).  Let’s do our part by contributing.  Even if you don’t care about Resident Evil, visit the site anyway for those who DO care. Resident Evil 5 hits North American shores on March 13th, 2009 (Friday the 13th).  I personally cannot wait, especially after playing the demo.
