Remember yesterday’s article? The Nikkei news service mentioned that a DSi with larger screens was probably going to be released in Japan sometime this year. Of course, Nintendo declined to comment — until now.
The DSi LL will be practically the same as the DSi, unless you count the 4.25-inch screens!! This means that the DSi LL’s screens are bigger than the screen found on the PSP-3000, which measures 4 inches.
The battery has been improved to handle the extra large screen. Compared with the original DSi, the battery life on the DSi LL will net you about a half hour of extra play time.
The stylus has also been improved and looks a whole lot more comfortable over the previous DS designs.
The DSi LL will be available in Japan on November 21 at a cost of ¥20,000 ($220.50). That’s slightly more than predicted. Three colors will be available at launch too: Wine Red, Dark Brown, and Natural White. No word on a North American launch just yet, but Nintendo did say that the redesigned handheld will be available in Europe in the first quarter of 2010.
Here are the technical specifications:

This is perfect for the New Legend of Zelda! The game my kid is anticipating to have. But DSi LL is a bit pricey for me, if you are to choose, this one or Wii (reduced price)?
Hmm, tough choice. I haven’t played both in a while, but I would probably choose a Wii. Then again, I would buy a DS Lite over a DSi.. Even a DSi XL. I just didn’t find any compelling reason to upgrade. Depends on the games your kid wants ultimately!
