Unable to wait for the actual Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver on February 12, 2010, Sega announced that Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games will launch on October 13 for the Wii and DS. In this minigame fest, Sonic, Mario, and their respective friends will be competing in events such as bobsledding, speed skating, ice hockey, snowboarding, and more. Some games will be compatible with the Wii Balance Board and there will be cooperative modes available on the Wii.
Sega and Nintendo will both be publishing the game, with Sega taking care of the North American and European markets while Nintendo focuses on Japan.
