Could Cliff Bleszinski, design director for Epic Games, be working on a new Silent-Hill style horror game?  Unfortunately he denied these rumors by saying:

“No, I’m not making a horror game next.  Gears is very much near and dear to me…  There’s only been two Gears games, man,” he continued. “There’s still plenty of opportunities for things you can do in a cover-based shooter, and there’s still a lot of stories to tell in the Gears universe. I’m not burned out on that at all.”

It seems as if the Gears trilogy will be the main focal point for now even though Epic denies a trilogy, opting for a game to game approach, seemingly contradicting a previous mention of a Gears trilogy back in November 2006.
