During Miyamoto’s roundtable at E3, where no cameras were allowed, the above photo for the next Zelda game on the Wii was shown. Unfortunately for gamers, no one outside of the roundtable saw the photo. Fast forward just a little bit though and a very poor resolution picture of the latest Zelda art was posted on the Internet. If we fast forward even further, a higher resolution picture appeared on Nintendo’s press site with the following caption:
Legendary Nintendo video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto revealed this concept artwork for a new Legend of Zelda game planned for the Wii console on June 2 during the E3 Expo in Los Angeles.
From the picture, we can tell the next Zelda game will feature an adult Link, similar to the one found in Ocarina of Time (the resemblance is there). We can also see that he’s holding a shield, but his Master Sword is nowhere in sight. Instead, we have this strange blue girl on Link’s back (I’m sure he’s not complaining). Perhaps this girl will serve as Link’s sword somehow… That’s what the current speculation leads to at any rate.

The blue figured girls characteristics seem to resemble the Master Sword perfectly. My speculation is that the master swords “spirit” ( or something similar ) is a key factor to the plot of the story. Obviously many other fans have seen the same thing. Think about this ~ The
Hyrulian crest on the Hylian shield shows the Triforce but also another upside down piece at the bottom. This mystery triangle has never been discussed in the zelda series. Farore of Courage, Din of Power, Nayru of Wisdom created the land of Hyrule, could the Master Sword’s spirit be the Goddess of Time?, left in the Temple of Time for each generation of the “The Hero of Time”. Possibly even creating a “Quadra~Force”. This may seem far fetched but it fits the pic…alot. Im guessing the passage of time will be influenced more in this game aswell as the Ocarina of Time. These
ideas are only “ideas” but take them into thought and dig for the gold.
That fourth triangle is actually an interesting find. I’ve never really noticed it myself. Whether it actually represents something or it’s just there for decor is ultimately up to Miyamoto I’m guessing, but it’s still fascinating nonetheless. Great insight!
I really like your blog!
The fourth piece on the Hylian Shield was removed in Twilight Princess– Now I wonder: was it so there was no confusion as far as a fourth goddess is concerned, or is there something more to it?
The fourth peice of the triforce shown on the sheild in Ocarina of Time creates the “Tetraforce.” this peice is actually shown being carried into the rest of the triforce by a bird in a position so that it would fit into the rest of it. There is an interesting article with alot of fan speculation on it at http://www.zeldawiki.org, just search for tetraforce.
I think i’ve skimmed through a theory of the fourth piece, come to think of it. Thats also an awesome concept to have in mind. This is the kind of conversation i love to have. People dont seem to look beyond the obvious and use knowledge of past games.
I’ll give you my email if you’d like ~ Jahbreaker@hotmail.com ~ and we’ll chat
If not, thats cool too.
Thanks Vinny. Left my email below on another message if you’d like to speculate. This goes out to anyone seeking knowledge of this new game or anything else game related.
Good link. I just checked it out. I find the evidence pretty compelling, especially the colors (Red = Power, Blue = Wisdom, Green = Courage, Purple = ?).
James, if you do want to discuss this or anything gaming related, you could always email me through the contact page (info@hiddenpalacezone.com). I’m the only one with access to that account. =)
That goes for anyone else too. Or feel free to keep discussing here. There seems to be more on this matter than I initially thought!
My wife keeps telling me I’m wasting my precious time on games, then I just tell her to shut up =D
